Gum tissue is the frame that provides form and shape to the top of your tooth and is therefore integral to the attractiveness of your smile. When the integrity of the gums is compromised, a less than attractive smile can be the result. In worst cases poor hygiene can result in gum disease, which will result in the loss of actual gum tissue.
