There is a popular misconception regarding the treatments available to deal with unwanted hair or pigmentation problems due to sun damage.
Here at Estetica we have found that clients and potential clients can become confused when they look at the various laser and intense pulse lights’ treatments on offer in the Surrey area.
What is the difference between Laser and Intense Pulse Light (IPL)? Laser is a very special type of light that separates it as the brightest, most powerful light known to mankind. It is monochromatic which means almost 100% of Laser light is one pure colour. Laser is also collimated meaning it is slow to spread out thus making the light particularly powerful. As a result, almost 100% of the light proves effective in the treatment of hair reduction.
In contrast, Intense pulse light (IPL) is not monochromatic with only a small percentage of the colours proving effective in a treatment such as hair reduction. Also, IPL is not collimated and is therefore quick to spread out. This makes the light less effective in the treatment of hair reduction. Clinical Studies have produced a conparison between the two treatments.
Here at Estetica we feel that Laser is far more effective. Estetica director Sina Salimi said; “Intense Pulse Light (IPL) has its place in the cosmetic market and is effective at removing some types of sun damage when used by competent, trained users. “That said, we believe Laser treatment is significantly better and stands alone as an effective treatment for hair reduction, vascular treatments and pigmentation caused by sun damage. We believe you deserve the best treatment possible."
