Variable pulsed light is a revolutionary treatment based on laser technology, but without the downtime and risks which are associated with lasers. This system involves the use of pulsed light at very specific wavelengths to target the underlying structures of the skin. It will even out areas of pigmentation and generally tighten and tone the skin
The treatment is safe and has been clinically proven to be effective in the treatment of all ageing skin imperfections in both men and women. It will leave your skin looking smooth, silky and radiant.
For treatment of wrinkles and fine lines, a yellow light targets the fibroblast cells which are found deep within the skin's surface. These cells respond to the light by producing more collagen. The new collagen moves to the upper layers of the skin where it plumps up the surface cells. This results in a smoother texture to the skin, with a reduction in pore size and a significant reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Is the light treatment safe?
Yes. There are very few side effects from this type of light treatment. Because your skin type, skin condition and requirements are individually assessed you should not experience any side effects. This treatment has not be linked to any increase risk of skin cancer because it does not contain UVA, UVB,which are the rays associated with skin cancer. It is normal to experience some reddening of the skin immediately after treatment. This indicates that the skin has responded well to an effective treatment but redness should fade quickly afterwards.
What areas can be treated?
.Any area of the body can be effectively treated. Commonly requested areas are face, neck, décolletage and hands. All skin types are suitable and results are long lasting. More than one area can be treated in the same session.

How many treatments will I require?
This usually depends on your age, the level of imperfections in your skin and your lifestyle. Results can be seen after just three treatments, but our health care professional may recommend more than this to you at your initial assessment. The best outcomes are achieved with a course of 6 treatments. Maintenance treatments can be given.
What should I expect after my treatment?
You will be advised to wear sunscreen for several weeks after your treatment and to avoid sun beds and sunbathing for at least 7 days. Your skin will feel warm and be pink for up to a few days after treatment. Your Beauty Doctor will recommend suitable skin care products, some of which may be prescription only, in order to maintain your skin's improved tone and texture.
