New to Estetica's range of advanced cosmetic treatments is the GentleMax laser, a technological revolution that can be used for a range of enhancements.
A fast, reliable and effective treatment for the removal of unwanted hair, facial and leg veins, fine lines, wrinkles and vascular and pigmented lesions, the GentleMax also provides skin tightening and rejuvenation solutions.
Renowned by dermatologists and cosmetic specialists across the world, the GentleMax laser boasts dual wavelengths and can be used to cause hair follicles in problem places to go into what is known as the telogen, or resting phase, reducing unwanted hair.
GentleMax shines a high-intensity laser beam deep into the skin tissue, delivering a tightly controlled burst of therapeutic heat to the target area, while the patented Dynamic Cooling Device protects the upper layers of skin with a gust of cooling cryogen. Together, the long-pulse laser and DCD offer optimal treatment with minimal side effects.
Of course, safety is paramount. Treatment will take place in the secure surroundings of Estetica's offices. Your eyes will be shielded form the laser with specialist eyewear and each pulse of the laser, directed by your practitioner with a small hand-piece, will be followed and preceded by a burst of cooling spray. A treatment usually takes between 30 to 45 minutes.
Some patients may feel a slight discomfort with each laser pulse, sometimes described as being akin to the snapping of a rubber band on the skin. This discomfort disappears in a matter of seconds. For all patients a topical anaesthetic is used prior to treatment. Your practitioner is available to answer any questions you have about the procedure.
How many sessions will I need?
Most clients require between four and six sessions, but the number will depend on the type of treatment you need and the condition of your skin.
Your skin should be thoroughly cleansed and dried, removing any makeup, creams, oils, topical anaesthetics or self-tanning products before laser treatment. Patients should not have a sun tan on the intended treatment area. If you have had a history of perioral herpes, prophylactic antiviral therapy may be prescribed.
Following treatment, patients should take care to avoid exposure to the sun, wearing sun-block, factor 30 or above. Your practitioner may advise additional precautions.
Developed in the US, GentleMax is suitable for use on all skin types, including tanned and darker skin.
