laser hair removal

Laser hair removal is simpler and less painful than ever thanks to products

like the GentleMAX machine from Candela. Many patients at one time associated

laser hair removal with pain and a fear that some skin types don’t respond well to

the laser or may even suffer burns.

The GentleMAX laser has integrated a cooling sensation so that when the laser pulses,

pain is minimized without using any topical numbing creams. The device is convenient

for for the physician as well with interchangeable parts so that the single base station

can perform multiple functions. Estetica in surrey brings Gentle Max to your door step

Many of the popular devices used for laser hair removal have now adopted the use of

cooling sensations or suction to trick the mind into processing the cooling or the suction

rather than the heat from the laser. The lasers have also advanced to the point that they

can treat many different skin types. The hair must be dark enough and contain the proper

amount of pigment that it can respond to the light so very light hair can still not be

treated with laser hair removal.

As hair grows in cycles, multiple treatments are needed in order to treat it all, so expect

to make several return visits. Following the procedure, you will typically be advised to

avoid the sun. There is still time to be hair free this summer, so find your laser hair

removal provider to begin your journey to permanent hair reduction

Botox will dramatically improve (and often vanish) horizontal forehead creases; scowl lines between your eyebrows, crow’s feet, and vertical wrinkles of your upper lip says cosmetic dentist in surrey.

Dynamic wrinkles, such as crow’s feet, frown lines, and forehead wrinkles, are due to repetitive facial expression. Weakening the muscles responsible for these facial expressions can dramatically improve these wrinkles. With the use of Botox, these muscles can be weakened without impacting facial expressions, and your natural, vibrant skin will strengthen and return. It can help you achieve a younger looking complexion without the complications associated with major cosmetic surgical procedures. To Book your free consultation , call 01932 570099 to discuss facial rejuvenation procedures with our highly experienced clinician

How can you brighten your smile?

Your wedding is coming up and you want your smile to be it’s brightest. Or maybe you have an important speaking engagement.
Whatever the reason, tooth bleaching isn’t just for the movie stars, and it isn’t just for one day.
Many people have had their teeth bleached, and probably millions more are thinking about it says dentist in surrey .
The desire for a brighter smile with whiter teeth is very strong, and tooth bleaching safely lightens the color of the teeth, lasting for up to five years.
The most effective and safest method of tooth bleaching is dentist-supervised.

Is teeth whitening for you?

Generally, teeth whitening is successful in at least 90 percent of patients, though it may not be
an option for everyone. Consider tooth whitening if your teeth are darkened from age,
coffee, tea or smoking. Teeth darkened with the color of yellow, brown or orange
respond better to lightening. Other types of gray stains caused by fluorosis, smoking or
tetracycline are lightened, but results are not as dramatic. If you have very sensitive
teeth, periodontal disease, or teeth with worn enamel, your dentist may discourage
bleaching.

What’s involved?

First, the dentist at estetica in surrey will determine whether you are a candidate for tooth bleaching and
what type of bleaching system would provide the best results. If you’re in a hurry for
whiter teeth, you may decide to have your teeth lightened immediately.
Your dentist will use either an in-office bleaching system or laser Zoom Whitening while you sit in the dental chair.

At the next appointment if you don’t choose laser bleaching, the dentist will
make impressions of your teeth to fabricate a bleaching trays for you. The
tray is custom made for your mouth and is lightweight so that it can be worn
comfortably while you are awake or sleeping. The tray is so thin that you should
even be able to talk and work while wearing your trays. Along with the
trays, you’ll receive the bleaching materials. You’ll be given instructions on how to
wear the trays. Some bleaching systems recommend bleaching your teeth from
two to four hours a day. Generally this type of system requires three to six weeks to
complete, and works best on patients with sensitive teeth. Other systems recommend
bleaching at night while you sleep. This type of system usually requires only 10-14 days
to complete.

How long does it last?

Lightness should last from one to five years, depending on your personal habits such as
smoking and drinking coffee and tea. At this point you may choose to get a touch up.
This procedure may not be as costly because you can probably still use the same
trays. The re-treatment time also is much shorter than the original treatment time.

What are realistic expectations?

No one can really predict how much lighter your teeth will become. Every case is
different. Typically, there is a two-shade improvement as seen on a dentist’s shade
guide. The success rate depends upon the type of stain involved and your compliance.
Bleaching can only provide a shift in color from gray to a lighter shade of gray, for
example. Bleaching does not lighten artificial materials such as resins, silicants or
porcelains.

Invisalign In Cobham advice from cosmetic dentist

The Invisalign system offers one of the most advanced, precise and convenient options for adult and teen orthodontic treatment today, with clear aesthetic and health advantages over conventional metal braces.says surrey dentist Invisalign can give you great results, often with fewer dental appointments and less overall treatment time, at about the same cost as traditional braces.

What is Invisalign?

The Invisalign system straightens your teeth with custom-made aligners made of a clear, thin, medical- grade polymer that is virtually invisible when worn. Since they are removable, you can eat, brush and floss normally. Our patients at estetica really love this! Each aligner moves your teeth little by little until you get to the end of treatment and a new beautiful smile. Since Invisalign employs very gradual movement without brackets and wires, Invisalign is a more comfortable and less painful way to move teeth than traditional orthodontics.

A great feature of the Invisalign process is the use of advanced 3D computer technology. Invisalign combines proven orthodontic science with 3D computer graphics to project teeth movement. Each one of your aligners is precisely calibrated and manufactured to fit snugly over your teeth and gently move them through every stage of your treatment plan. Both you and Dr.Salimi can view your treatment plan on the computer, from beginning to end, even before you begin treatment.

Most appointments take just 15 to 30 minutes and are usually scheduled every eight to ten weeks, depending on the level of adjustment needed. Invisalign fees are comparable to traditional braces. Invisalign has been proven effective in both clinical research and on thousands of patients in private practices worldwide. More than 100,000 patients have gone into treatment with Invisalign. with. Sometimes a combination of limited orthodontics and ceramic enhancement may be the best choice.

BOTOX® Cosmetic Treatment in Sunbury £180 for 3 areas , by practitioner with over of 6 years of experience in facial aesthetics 01932 570099

Saturday, July 24th, 2010

istory: Injections of botulinum toxin A or BOTOX® Cosmetic have been in use since the 1970 when they were injected into the muscles of the eye to treat “lazy eye” and then later found success in the treatment of involuntary spasms of the facial muscles (blepharospasm). Today BOTOX® Cosmetic injections have become a popular method for softening forehead lines, crow’s feet, and frown lines.

There are a couple of factors that cause the skin to wrinkle in these areas – the progressive loss of elasticity due to aging and the stretching and contraction of the muscles in the upper portion of the face causing a folding of the skin. BOTOX® Cosmetic is injected into the muscles of the upper face, weakening or paralyzing the muscle, which lessens the lines of facial expression.

It can take 24 hours, up to 10 days for results to appear and they will last anywhere from three to six months.

The sites that are most commonly treated by BOTOX® Cosmetic include the forehead, which would minimize the transverse wrinkle lines, the crow’s feet area, and the glabellar complex (the area between the eyebrows containing the corrugator and procerus muscles).

Procedure: Although there are no drugs that an otherwise healthy patient would be taking that would interact with BOTOX® Cosmetic, there are some things you should avoid before treatment. You should avoid taking anti-inflammatory medication, Vitamin E and aspirin for two weeks prior to treatment. Each of these medications may cause bruising when the BOTOX® Cosmetic is administered.

The entire procedure takes approximately 10 minutes, and at estetica is given through a very fine gauge needle, minimizing the discomfort from the injection. Topical anesthesia with Emla ® or another anesthetic may be used. After you have received the BOTOX® Cosmetic injections,or another type of Botulinum Toxin wait four hours before lying down, do not massage the treated muscles as this can cause the botulinum toxin to spread to the muscles around the eyes. Exercising the muscles every 15 minutes for one hour after the treatment probably increases the effect.

BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments can be repeated every four to six months and to date, no long term side effects have been detected. Patients will require less frequent treatments as they break the habit of contracting frown lines, thereby causing atrophy of the underlying muscle.

Complications from BOTOX® Cosmetic: There are a few possible side effects from the BOTOX® Cosmetic injections but they are rare and always reversible. Sometimes an injection is not effective and a repeat is necessary. Patients may see some minor swelling or bruising and on rare occasions, drooping of the eyebrow or eyelid can occur. for all the above reasons finding an experienced practitioner is crucial . Sedation in Esher advice from cosmeetic dentist

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

What are the levels of dental anesthesia?

Local anesthesia is produced by the application or injection of a drug to eliminate pain in a specific area in the mouth. Topical anesthetics are frequently used by your dentist to numb an area in preparation for administering an injectable local anesthetic. Injectable local anesthetics, such as Lidocaine, numb mouth tissues in a specific area of your mouth for a short period of time. Your dentist at estetica in surrey will probably inject a local anesthetic before filling cavities, preparing your teeth for crowns, or for any surgical procedure. Local anesthesia is the most commonly used form of anesthesia in the surrey dental practice.

Conscious sedation can be used to help you relax during a dental procedure. Your dentist at estetica with experience of over 11 years may administer an anti-anxiety agent, such as nitrous oxide, or a sedative, in combination with a local anesthetic for pain. During conscious sedation, you will remain calm during treatment, yet rational and responsive to speech and touch. Anti-anxiety agents and sedatives can be administered by mouth, inhalation or injection.

Deep sedation and general anesthesia is used for complex procedures and for patients who have trouble controlling their movements or need a deeper level of anesthesia during treatment. During deep sedation you will be unable to respond appropriately to verbal commands. During general anesthesia you will be unconscious.

Dentist in Virginia water discuss baby bottle tooth decay

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

What’s baby bottle tooth decay?

Baby bottle tooth decay is caused by the frequent and long-term exposure of a child’s teeth to liquids containing sugars. Among these liquids are milk, formula, fruit juice, sodas, and other sweetened drinks. The sugars in these liquids pool around the infant’s teeth and gums, feeding the bacteria that cause plaque. Every time a child consumes a sugary liquid, acid attacks the teeth and gums. After numerous attacks, tooth decay can begin.

The condition also is associated with breast-fed infants who have prolonged feeding habits or with children whose pacifiers are frequently dipped in honey, sugar or syrup. The sweet fluids left in the mouth increases the chances of cavities while the infant is sleeping.

How can I prevent baby bottle tooth decay?

Never allow children to fall asleep with a bottle containing milk, formula, juice or other sweetened liquids. Clean and massage the baby’s gums to help establish healthy teeth and to aid in teething. Wrap a moistened gauze square or washcloth around the finger and gently massage the gums and gingival tissues. This should be done once a day. Plaque removal activities should begin upon eruption of the first baby tooth. When brushing a child’s teeth, use a soft toothbrush and a pea-shaped amount of fluoride toothpaste. Parents should first bring their child to the dentist when the child is between six and 12 months old.

Will changes in my child’s diet help prevent baby bottle tooth decay?

Preventing baby bottle tooth decay involves changes in a child’s diet. A series of small changes over a period of time is usually easier, and eventually leads to better oral health.

To incorporate these changes:

  • Gradually dilute the bottle contents with water over a period of 2-3 weeks.
  • Once that period is over, if you give a child a bottle, fill it with water or give the child a clean pacifier recommended by a dentist. The only safe liquid to put in a bottle to prevent baby bottle tooth decay is water.
  • Decrease consumption of sugar, especially between meals.
  • Children should be weaned from the bottle as soon as they can drink from a cup, but the bottle should not be taken away too soon, since the sucking motion aids in the development of facial muscles, as well as the tongue.

Why should I be worried about baby bottle tooth decay?

Giving an infant a sugary drink at nap or nighttime is harmful because during sleep, the flow of saliva decreases, allowing the sugary liquids to linger on the child’s teeth for an extended period of time. If left untreated, pain and infection can result. Severely decayed teeth may need to be extracted. If teeth are infected or lost too early due to baby bottle tooth decay, your child may develop poor eating habits, speech problems, crooked teeth, and damaged adult teeth. Healthy baby teeth will usually result in healthy permanent teeth.

Cosmetic dentist in Cobham discuss Teeth Grinding / Bruxism ,symptoms and treatments

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

What is Bruxism?

Bruxism is the technical term for grinding and clenching that abrades teeth and may cause facial pain. People who grind and clench, called bruxers, unintentionally bite down too hard at inappropriate times, such as in their sleep. In addition to grinding teeth, bruxers also may bite their fingernails, pencils and chew the inside of their cheek. People usually aren’t diagnosed with bruxism until it is too late because so many people don’t realize they have the habit. Others mistakenly believe that their teeth must touch at all times. About one in three people suffer from bruxism, which can easily be treated by a dentist.

Can bruxism cause harm?

People who have otherwise healthy teeth and gums can clench so often and so hard that over time their teeth become sensitive. They experience jaw pain, tense muscles and headaches along with excessive wear on their teeth. Forceful biting when not eating may cause the jaw to move out of proper balance.

What are the signs?

When a person has bruxism, the tips of the teeth look flat. Teeth are worn down so much that the enamel is rubbed off, exposing the inside of the tooth, which is called dentin. When exposed, dentin may become sensitive. Bruxers may experience pain in their temporomandibular joint (TMJ)-the jaw-which may manifest itself as popping and clicking. Women have a higher prevalence of bruxism possibly because they are more likely to experience tissue alterations in the jaw resulting from clenching and grinding. Tongue indentations are another sign of clenching.

Stress and certain personality types are at the root of bruxism. For as long as humankind has existed, bruxism has affected people with nervous tension. Anger, pain and frustration can trigger bruxing. People who are aggressive, competitive and hurried also may be at a greater risk for bruxism.

What can be done about it?

During regular dental visits, the dentist automatically checks for physical signs of bruxism. If the dentist or patient notices signs of bruxism, the condition may be observed over several visits to be sure of the problem before recommending and starting therapy.

The objective of therapy is to get the bruxer to change behavior by learning how to rest the tongue, teeth and lips properly. When some people become aware of their problem, simply advising them to rest their tongue upward with teeth apart and lips shut may be enough to change their behavior and relieve discomfort. However, the dentist can make a plastic mouth appliance, such as a night guard that’s worn to absorb the force of biting. This appliance can prevent future damage to the teeth and helps change the patient’s destructive behavior. Biofeedback is used to treat daytime clenchers by using electronic instruments to measure muscle activity and to teach patients how to reduce muscle activity when the biting force becomes too great. Researchers are looking for other ways of treating bruxism, especially for those who tend to clench in their sleep. One researcher developed an experimental lip simulator that electrically stimulates the lip when a person bites down too hard while sleeping. However, that method is being refined because the stimulation can wake sleepers several times in a night. If you are suffering from any sign of bruxism call 01932 570099 or visit our web site on www.esteticaa.co.uk
